Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall Coming To Carroll County

It will be set up at the New WIndsor Fire Company carnival grounds.

New WIndsor, Md (KM) The public has the opportunity beginning this week to see the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall. It will be set up at the New Windsor Fire Hall Carnival Grounds at 101 High Street.

The wall and its exhibits will be open around the clock from Thursday, October 9th starting at 6:00 PM; and remain open until Monday, October 13th until 11:00 AM

Organizers say the wall will be open 24 hours a day, but the time to see it with the fewest crowds is early in the morning, or during the overnight hours.

The wall is a replica of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC, and honors the more than 58,000 men and women who died in that conflict. It’s a 3/5 scale of the one in the Nation’s Capital, standing six feet tall and 300 feet from end to end.

Bringing the Vietnam Man Memorial Traveling Wall into Carroll County, organizers say, remembers those who died in the Vietnam War; honors those who served, and helps Vietnam veterans heal.
