Old Mill Road Bridge Closed for Repairs Indefinitely

Detours in place as crews assess and repair bridge damage.

Frederick, MD (JK) –The Old Mill Road Bridge over Owens Creek near Thurmont is temporarily closed after sustaining damage in a recent vehicle collision. The Frederick County Department of Highway Operations is inspecting the bridge and performing necessary repairs to ensure it is safe for public use.

Motorists are advised to follow posted detour routes while the bridge remains closed. Officials say the reopening date will be announced once the repairs are complete and the bridge passes safety inspections.
