Rockville, Md. (DG) – A traffic stop in Montgomery Village Wednesday led to the arrest of two men on multiple gun and drug charges. Montgomery County Police say officers were patrolling near the Montgomery Village Shopping Center on February 4, 2026, when they noticed suspicious behavior involving a Kia. After observing a traffic violation, they pulled the car over near Germantown Road and Observation Drive.
The driver, 26-year-old Nyrel Lee, was found to be operating the vehicle on a suspended license. During a search, officers recovered two loaded handguns – one tucked under Lee’s seat and another inside a bag near passenger 25-year-old Noric Malgar. Police also seized controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Both men were transported to the county’s central processing unit and are being held without bond while facing multiple firearms and drug-related charges. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing.
