Chambersburg, PA (JK) – A man accused in a Chambersburg shooting was arrested inside the emergency room at WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital hours after the incident, police say.
The shooting occurred around 2:42 p.m. on March 1 in the 200 block of East Washington Street. Authorities viewing surveillance footage say a white Chevy Trailblazer registered to Tyrone McNeil Jr. stopped in front of a home, prompting three people outside to run. Five others were inside. Minutes later, a 911 call reported a shooting. One victim suffered two gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital.
Around 4:20 p.m., officers located McNeil in the hospital waiting room and took him into custody. A search of his vehicle recovered a 9mm handgun, with ammunition matching shell casings found at the scene.
He is charged with:
- Felony criminal attempted homicide
- Felony aggravated assault with extreme indifference
- Eight counts of reckless endangerment
- Eight felony counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied structure
- Misdemeanor carrying a firearm without a license
McNeil remains incarcerated at the Franklin County Jail on a no-bond status..
