Frederick, MD (JK) – Four people were arrested early March 1 after Frederick County Sheriff’s deputies conducted two traffic stops that led to the discovery of multiple firearms, drugs and cash.
According to the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped two vehicles around 3:25 a.m. in the area of Ballenger Creek Pike and Ballenger Center Drive in Frederick.
During the first stop, deputies identified a passenger as 18-year-old Keymoni Javon Disney of Windsor Mill. Authorities say deputies recovered a loaded handgun from Disney’s waistband. The weapon had an extended magazine and a fully automatic conversion device, making it capable of firing as a machine gun. A search also turned up about 291 grams of cannabis and approximately $1,200 in cash.
In a second traffic stop, deputies identified a passenger as 17-year-old Demarion Lazivior Scott of Frederick, who is being charged as an adult. Officials say Scott became uncooperative and was removed from the vehicle. Deputies then observed a loaded handgun with an extended magazine concealed under his leg.
A further search revealed another passenger, 22-year-old James Damaurie Monkister of Frederick, was carrying an additional loaded handgun with an extended magazine.
Deputies also arrested 19-year-old Myanna Amor Evans of Frederick on an active out-of-state felony warrant from West Virginia.
Authorities say they also recovered suspected crack cocaine, cannabis, a digital scale and about $1,500 in cash during the investigation. Officers with the Frederick Police Department assisted at the scene.
Disney, Scott and Monkister are each facing firearms-related charges and charges of possession with intent to distribute. Evans was arrested on the outstanding warrant.
All four were transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for processing.
