Inwood, WV (JK) – A Maryland woman wanted in connection with gun-related incidents in Baltimore County and Gaithersburg has been arrested in Berkeley County, West Virginia.
The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office says 23-year-old Mya Nailah McClellan was taken into custody earlier this month at a home on Gray Silver Road in Inwood. Deputies, along with detectives from the Baltimore County Police Department and Gaithersburg police, executed a search warrant and felony arrest warrant at the residence.
Investigators say the warrants stem from a dispute at a Baltimore County beauty salon where McClellan allegedly threatened to use a firearm. Authorities say she retrieved a gun from her vehicle and tried to return to the business, but employees had locked the doors and kept her out.
McClellan is also considered a suspect in a separate shooting in Gaithersburg involving gunfire at an unoccupied home belonging to her partner’s parents.
She was taken into custody without incident and arraigned in Berkeley County Magistrate Court on a fugitive from justice charge. Investigators say evidence recovered during the search will be used in the case.
