TANEYTOWN, MD (JK) — A July 4th road-rage incident in Carroll County has resulted in one death and multiple injuries. Authorities say the altercation began around 10:05 PM near Bear Run Road and Runnymede Road, involving two vehicles and escalating from a verbal dispute to violence.
Investigators report that 20-year-old and a 26-year-old male passenger confronted 36-year-old Christopher Patrick Moore II. During the altercation, Moore’s fiancée, armed with a legally owned handgun, attempted to intervene. Dabbs reportedly struggled with her for control of the firearm, striking her multiple times and firing shots that killed Moore and injured both Dabbs’ passenger and the fiancée.
The fiancée sustained a broken jaw and facial injuries and was hospitalized. Dabbs and his passenger were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Dabbs was arrested two days later at a Taneytown residence and faces first-degree murder and assault charges in connection with the deadly confrontation.
