Flames damaged a vacant wood frame barn.
Hagerstown, Md. (KM) – The Maryland State Fire Marshal says the cause of a structure fire in Washington County last Saturday afternoon was arson.
Officials say at around 3:46 PM, fire fighters were dispatched to Bovey Lane in the Hagerstown area for a 40-foot by 50-foot vacant wood frame barn on fire. A total of 30 fire fighters spent five minutes bringing the flames under control. There were no injuries.
Damage is estimated $5,000.
Investigators say the fire originated in the main level of the barn and was discovered by a nearby resident.
