These cases now move to Circuit Court.
Frederick, Md. (KM) – Twelve indictments were returned on Friday by the Frederick County Grand Jury.
Among the 12 was Ricardo Humberto Cruz-Mendoza, 37, of Frederick, who’s charged with four counts of sex abuse of a minor, and one count of 3rd-degree sex offense. Cruz-Mendoza was arrested in April. The Sheriff’s Office says he allegedly abused a 14-year-old who is mentally disabled. Cruz Mendoza was also placed on a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer.
Other indictments returned by the Grand Jury:
- Hermeelindo Israel Perez-Perea, 21, of Frederick, Md, who’s charged with three counts of 3rd-degree sex offense for incidents which occurred between August 1st, 2021 and December 7th, 2021.
- Tony Christopher Taylor, 58, of Frederick, Md., who’s charged with 2nd-degree rape, attempted 2nd-degree rape and 3rd-degree sex offense for an incident which occurred on May 13th, 2016.
- Josiah Dalton Lindauere, 18, of Monrovia, Md., who’s charged with 1st-degree rape, 2nd-degree rape, 3rrd-degree sex offense, false imprisonment, 1st-degree assault, 2nd-degree assault, causing another to engage in sexual production, child pornography film in a sex act, and use of a deadly weapon with intent to injure for incidents which occurred between January 1st, 2022 to February 28th, 2022.
- Vincente Chavez-Chilel, 21, of Frederick, Md. who’s charged with 1st-degree child abuse with severe physical injury, three counts of 2nd-degree child abuse by a custodian; and neglect of a minor for an incident which occurred on April 24th, 2022.
- * Damian Nicodemus Cirilo, 19, of Thurmont, Md. who’s charged with three counts of 1st-degree rape for incidents which occurred between December 11th and December 25th, 2021.
- Zamir Tomil Ayers, 26, of Frederick, Md., who’s charged with 1st-degree assault, 2nd-degree assault and violation of a pre-trial release for an incident which occurred on April 14th, 2022.
- Mekhi Michael Albert, 18, of Frederick, Md., who’s charged with 1st-degree assault, 1st-degree rape, theft between $1500 to $25,000; malicious destruction of property valued at more than $500 for an incident which occurred on April 23, 2022.
- This is a superseding indictments for two co-defendants. Charles Eugene Cooper, 45, and John Thomas Trivette, 36, both of Hagerstowns are each charged with possession of a large amount of a fentanyl mixture containing para-Fluorofentayl, conspiracy to possess a large amount of fentanyl mixture containing para-Fluorogentanyl, possession of para-Fluorofentanyl; possession of cocaine and possession of paraphernalia, a glass pipe for smoking cosine.
These cases now move to the Circuit Court where trial dates will be scheduled.
The State’s Attorney’s Office says an indictment is a charging document alleging criminal conduct, and all defendants are innocent until proven guilty.
