Suspect In Frederick Stabbing Arrested In California

He has been extradited back to Maryland.

Frederick, Md. (KM) – A suspect wanted for a stabbing in Frederick earlier this year is being held without bond. Osmin Elseo Lopez Torres, 21, is charged with 1st-degree attempted murder and other offenses.

Police say they responded to a stabbing on Friday morning, March 25th in the 1100 block of Providence Court where officers located a woman with a stab wound to the torso. She was taken to an area trauma center for treatment.

Investigators identified Lopez Torres as the suspect. He was located on May 27th in Salinas, California, and taken into custody without incident.

Lopez Torres was brought back to Frederick where he’s being held at the Adult Detention Center.

Frederick Police say they worked with the US Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, US Marshals Service Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office and the Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office. to bring Lopez Torres back to Maryland.
