Police say he was a passenger in car which struck a tree.
Damascus, Md. (KM) – Montgomery County Police continue to investigate a fatal crash Saturday morning in the Damascus area.
Authorities say Rene Rivas Quinteros, 45, of Winchester, Virginia, was a passenger in a Toyota Camry which crashed into a tree while traveling along the 28540 block of Ridge Road. Quinteros was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the operator of the Camry was traveling southbound on Ridge Road when for unknown reasons, it crossed into the northbound lanes, and left the road before striking the tree.
The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation, and anyone with information which could help is asked to contact the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240-773-6620.
