Frederick Man Arrested Following Traffic Stop

Police say he had a large amount of drug and  a ‘ghost gun’ in his vehicle.

Frederick, Md. (KM) – Charges have been filed against a Frederick man following a traffic stop earlier this month. Leonard Morris, 19, was taken into custody, charged with drug and firearms offenses.

On July1st at 11:00 PM, two Frederick Police Officer who were on routine patrol in the 400 block of North Market Street saw a vehicle approach from behind with a headlight not working They began a traffic stop, and made contact with an occupant. . The cops noticed a large baggie of marijuana in plain view with more than ten grams of pot.  . Morris was ordered out of the car, and placed under arrest.

A search of the vehicle netted more marijuana and some suspected crack cocaine. The officers also found a loaded handgun. Police say it was “ghost gun,” meaning it did not have a serial number.

Morris was taken into custody.
