Gaithersburg, Md. (KM) – A suspect in an armed carjacking earlier this month has been arrested; and the search continues for a second suspect.
Montgomery County Police say on Wednesday, July 13th, officers responded to the 13200 block of Catawba Manor Way in Clarksburg for a suspicious situation. They took a juvenile into custody, and recovered a stolen vehicle. The youth is charged with armed carjacking and other offenses. . He is in the custody of the Montgomery County Department of Juvenile Services.
The second suspect is still at large.
Detectives say their investigation determined that around 12:51 AM on Sunday, July 10th, the victims were driving a black Toyota Corolla in the 18500 block of Boysenberry Drive for a ride share company. Two individuals approached. One displayed a semi-automatic handgun and ordered the victims out of the vehicle. A second individual was armed with a knife. The two suspects got into the car and drove away toward Montgomery Village Avenue and then toward Mid-County HIghway.
