Ballot Count From 2022 Primary Election In Frederick County Resumes On Friday

Certification is also expected to take place that day.

Frederick, Md. (KM) – The counting of the mail-in and provisional  ballots from the 2022 Primary Election will resume Friday. Frederick County Election Director Barbara Wagner says as of Thursday morning 2500 ballots were counted.

The count will begin again at 10:00 AM on Friday. :”We are into our last bucket of mail-in ballots, and provisional ballots. People that asked for a mail-in ballot but decided to go the polls,:” she said.

Wagner says the mal-in ballots that are counted will be those with a postmark of July 19th or before. Any postmarked after that will not be counted.

She says the Frederick County Election Office sent out 21,000 mail-in ballots, and a little less than 16,000 were returned.

Once the counting is completed, Wagner says the results will be certified. “Even if we finish at like one, two, three-o-clock in the afternoon, it probably won’t be done by six-o-clock, seven-o-clock in the evening when we get the all clear,” she says.

The general election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 8th. Early voting will be held from Thursday, October 27th through Thursday, November 3rd. The polls will be open at the time from 7:00 AM until 8:00 PM.
