21+ Event in Washington County Raises Money for Two Community-Based Programs

Hagerstown’s annual Hangarfest returns.

Hagerstown, Md. (BW) – Discovery Station and Breast cancer Awareness – Cumberland Valley are partnering to put on Hagerstown, Maryland’s annual Hangarfest.

Hangarfest is a 21+ fundraising event with live music, beer trucks, food trucks and more. The event starts at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24 and runs until 11 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Performing this year is the Jill Fulton Band, followed by The Reagan years.

The event takes place in the Rider Jet Center at the Hagerstown Regional Airport. All proceeds go to Discovery Station and Breast Cancer Awareness – Cumberland Valley.

Interim Executive Director of Discovery Station, Jordan Wygant, said that Hangarfest has become one of the most popular events in Washington county.

“We have people from all over the tri-state area come and attend. It is super fun,” Wygant said.

Wygant stressed the importance of programs like Discovery Station and Breast Cancer Awareness – Cumberland Valley. She said that these programs help offer support to members of the community.

Discovery Station is a community-based program that reaches out to children by teaching them about the principles of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math)

“…it [Discovery Station] helps our community of children. Children are our everything, they are our future,” Wygant said.
