Gaithersburg, Md (KM) A double pedestrian fatality in Gaithersburg Tuesday morning is under investigation by Montgomery County Police.
Just before 7:30 AM, Montgomery County and Gaithersburg Police, as well as fire and rescue personnel, responded to the area of School Drive near Muddy Branch Road for a report of two pedestrians struck. Authorities say a man and a woman were crossing School Drive toward Fields Road Elementary School when they hit by a Toyota Prius. .
Both were taken to an area hospital where they were pronouned dead. They’re identified as Ana Margarita Ortiz, 70, and Miguel Antonio Ortiz, 65.
The driver of the Prius remained on the scene.
