Frederick, MD (MO) – A Frederick man was sentenced to decades in prison Tuesday in Frederick County Circuit Court for sexually abusing a young girl over an 8-year period.
Celestino Lopez-Aguilar, 37, was sentenced to 105 years in prison with all but 50 suspended for sex abuse of a minor.
In December 2022 a jury found Lopez-Aguilar guilty of sexually abusing a minor starting in 2008 when the victim was 7 years old. He was the live-in fiance of the victim’s mother. The abuse continued until 2016.
After he gets out of prison, Lopez-Aguilar will be on 5 years of supervised probation and must register as a sex offender for life.
Frederick County State’s Attorney Charlie Smith said, “This was an egregious case where a man used his role as a father figure to sexually abuse a young girl over the course of many years. We are pleased that the defendant received a long sentence and hope that the victim and her family can find closure with this outcome.”
