Vote Ended To Name Frederick Atlantic League Professional Baseball Club

The name will be revealed in late June.

Frederick, Md,. (KM) The voting is over when it comes to choosing a name for the new Frederick Atlantic League Baseball Club, and the fans have spoken. .

Team officials say they received nearly 4,000 votes  from participants who came up with 1500 potential names. The results will be “an important factor” in determining the name for the local Atlantic League Professional  Baseball Club, team officials say.

“We have been thrilled with the participation from the greater Frederick community in our Name the Team contest,” says Greg Baroni in a statement. He’s CEO and Managing General Partner  of Attain Sports and Entertainment, the owner of the Frederick Atlantic League Professional Baseball Club. “As I’ve shared before, community and teamwork are at the heart of all that we do, and we have truly enjoyed engaging fans in the  process of naming the team. We’re gearing up for a great season, and we can’t wait to get started.”

“The people have spoken with their votes, and we have heard them! We will now get to work on designing a brand that will represent our  fan base and the greater Frederick community as a whole,” says Chuck Domino, Senior Vice President of Baseball Operations for Attain Sports and Entertainment, in a statement.

The company says in order to have enough time for the design process of the new team logo, uniforms and caps, the final team name won’t be unveiled until Friday, June 23rd, when the ALPB Club of Frederick hosts the York Revolution at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium. Fireworks will follow the game.

Leading up to that time, the Frederick Atlantic League Professional Baseball team’s players will wear uniforms with question marks in the colors of the Maryland flag which is red, black and gold The players’ black caps will have a white question mark on the front, and the Maryland State Flag on the back.

The team’s inaugural home opener at Nymeo Field is scheduled for Tuesday, May 2nd. The Frederick Keys MLB Draft League,  also owned by Attain Sports and Entertainment, will hold its first home game on Saturday, June 3rd at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium.
