Frederick Woman Struck and Killed on I-95 in Virginia

Crystal Durruty walked into the travel lanes where she was struck by a vehicle.

Fredericksburg, Va. (BW)- A Frederick woman was killed on Sunday, April 30, after being struck by a vehicle on I-95 in Fredericksburg, Va.

Crystal Durruty, 38, was the passenger in a car that had stopped on the shoulder of I-95. She got out of the car and walked into the travel lanes.

She was struck by an SUV travelling south on I-95 around 11 p.m.

Durruty was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV was not injured.

Virginia State Police are investigating the incident.
