Public Helps To Decide New Frederick County Flag

Public voting is open through June 10.

Frederick, Md. (BW)- Three designs have been selected as semi-finalists for Frederick County’s flag redesign contest.

The public can vote on any of the final three flag designs or to keep the current flag. Public voting ends on June 10.

The winning flag design will be announced by County Executive Jessica Fitzwater on Flag Day, June 14.

The finalists were selected from a pool of 137 submitted designs decided on by a County Flag Contest Selection Committee.

The criteria for the flag desins are simplicity, color and narrative.

The flag redesign contest is a part of Frederick County’s 275th anniversary, which will be celebrated with a County Jubilee on June 3 at Utica Park from 3-10 p.m.
