Damascus Man Shot & Killed On Father’s Day

Police do not have a suspect in custody

Gaithersburg, Md. (DG) – A 32-year-old Damascus man was shot and killed on Father’s Day.

Montgomery County Police responded to multiple calls for a shooting shortly before 10 PM in the 9800 block of Bethesda Church Road on Sunday June 18th.

When police arrived, they found James Austin suffering from several gunshot wounds. Despite lifesaving measures by police and EMS, Austin was pronounced dead at the scene.

Austin’s body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.

Police are reporting no one is in custody for the shooting, and they do not have any suspect information.
