Clear Spring, Md (KM) A vehicle fire in Washington County Monday is being investigated as an arson.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office say a passerby discovered a vehicle on fire at around 11:20 PM in the area of Independence Road in Clear Spring, and contacted 911. .
Fire fighters arriving at the scene found a Ford Fusion passenger on fire, and spent ten minutes bringing the flames under control. There were no injuries. Damage is estimated at $10.000.
Investigators say there were two points of origin for this fire: one was in the engine compartment and the other in the trunk.
Anyone who has information on this fire is asked to contact the State Fire Marshal’s Office’s Western Region Office at 301-766-3888. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
