BLACK FREDERICK FESTIVAL

The event is free and all are welcomed.

FREDERICK, MD. (LG) Nigerians in Frederick and BlackFrederick.com are sponsoring a festival filled with lots of activities. “The event is going to be the very first black festival taking place on August 26th, at Carroll Creek, in downtown Frederick,” said Yewande Oladeinde, coordinator. “This event is really an opportunity to bring together the African dance by African Americans to really celebrate what the black culture means in Frederick,” she continued.

The goal of the event is to attract people of all colors, not just black people. “Its for all ages and demographics to share, celebrate, and educate the local community about the richness of the black culture”.

The free event will feature music, all kinds of foods, different vendors, and lots of activities for kids, including face painting. There will also be a Step Dance performance by the Divine 9 Soroity.

Carroll Creek Park is located at 50 Carroll Creek Way, in Frederick, Md. 21701. The event will be held from 11am to 5pm.
