Frederick Man Given Stiff Sentence For Child Sexual Abuse

He will be required to register as a sex offender for life.

Frederick, Md (KM) A Frederick man will be serving a long prison sentence for sexually abusing two girls.

On Monday, Circuit Court Judge Scott Rolle sentenced Jose Rosa Romero, 45, to two consecutive 10-year terms for two counts of sex abuse of minors. That’s a total of 20 years. After he’s released, Romero must register as a sex offender for life. Along with that, he will be subject to lifetime sex offender supervision.

Romero was found guilty on May 25th, 2023   of two counts child sexual abuse.

The Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office says on  April 8th, 2022, the two victims revealed to family members that Romero sexually abused them 10  years prior when they were four and six years old.

The case was the result of a collaborative effort by the State’s Attorney’s Office and the Frederick Police.

The prosecution was  handled by Special Victims Unit Prosecutor Lindsey Carpenter.
