Official says it’s due to increased security.
Thurmont, Md (KM) The National Park Service says portions of Catoctin Mountain Park will be closed starting on Saturday, December 23rd beginning at 10:00 AM
Park Central Road will be closed between Thurmont Vista and Manahan Road. Trails to Hog Rock Overlook, Blue Ridge Summit Vista and parts of the Catoctin National Recreation Trail will be closed, along with the Chestnut Picnic Area and Spicebush Nature Trail. All other roads and trails will remain open.
These closures are scheduled to remain in affect until about 3:00 PM on Tuesday, December 26th.
The Park Service says these closures are due to increased security. The Camp David Presidential Retreat is located at Catoctin Mountain Park.
