Offices will open back up on Tuesday, January 2.
FREDERICK, Md. – Frederick County Government offices will be closed on Monday, January 1, 2024, for the New Year’s Holiday. County offices and services will return to regularly scheduled hours on Tuesday, January 2.
Clarifications to the holiday schedule:
· Animal Control: Administrative office will be closed, and kennels will be closed for adoptions on Monday, January 1. Animal Control Officers will be available for animal related emergencies only on Monday, January 1 and on routine duty Tuesday, January 2, call 301-600-1544. · Department of Social Services: The office will be closed in observance of the holiday on Monday, January 1 and will open for regularly scheduled hours on Tuesday, January 2. For further details, call 1-800-332-6347 or visit www.dhs.maryland.gov.
· Division of Solid Waste and Recycling: The Reich’s Ford Road Facility, including the Transfer Station, Yard Waste and Compost Programs, Citizens Convenience Center, and Recycling Center, will be closed New Year’s Day with operations resuming Tuesday, January 2 at 7AM. Due to the holiday closure, recycling collection will slide one day, with Monday’s collection sliding to Tuesday, Tuesday to Wednesday, Wednesday to Thursday, Thursday to Friday, Friday to Saturday. · Frederick County Courts and State’s Attorney’s Office: District and Circuit Courts will be closed in observance of the holiday on Monday, January 1 and will open during regularly scheduled hours on Tuesday, January 2.
