Part Of Route 77 In Frederick County To Be Shut Down Until May 2024.

Two detours will be set up.

Frederick, Md. (BW)- Maryland Route 77 between Pryor Road and Park Central Road in Thurmont will be closed for approximately four months

The road closure begins on Thursday, January 4.

Crews from the Maryland State Department of Transportation are replacing a sewer line under the roadway. Work is expected to be completed in May 2024.

There will be two detours set up during this road closure. The first detour will direct motorists from Route 77 to U.S Route 15, then to Sabillasville Road, to Foxville Deerfield Road, and then back to Route 77. Trucks and other large vehicles will use the second detour which will direct traffic from Route 77 to Sabillasville Road, to Raven Rock Road, and then to Route 64.

MDOT plans to resurface the roadway in the summer of 2024.
