Road Work In Carroll County Forces Two Month Closure For Motorists

A detour will be set up for motorists

Sykesville, Md. (BW)- Maryland Route 851 will be closed between Main Street and Central Avenue in Sykesville for approximately two months due to road work.

The closure will begin on Monday, January 9th. The roadway is expected to open back up in March, weather permitting.

Crews from the Maryland Department of Transportation will be improving drainage on a half-mile stretch of the roadway.

A detour will be set up for motorists from Main Street to Sandosky Road to Route 32.

Local traffic and emergency vehicles will be able to get through.
