Hagerstown Man Charged With Drug, Weapons Offenses in Frederick County

He was arrested last week during a traffic stop.

Frederick, Md (KM) A Hagerstown man was arrested in Frederick County last week following a traffic stop.

The Sheriff’s Office says Tuesday, January 2nd,   deputies pulled over a vehicle operated by Ricky Ray Hinton, 41. Searching his vehicle. they located a loaded handgun. 60.3 grams of crack cocaine, 1.2 grams of a powdery substance;  and the drug ecstasy. .

Hinton was taken into custody, and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (not cannabis); possession of drugs with intent to distribute; having a loaded firearm in a vehicle; possession of a firearm with a felony conviction; illegal  possession of a firearm; and illegal possession of ammunition. .

Authorities say Hinton  is prohibited from owning a firearm due to  previous felony convictions in 2002 and 2017.

He’s currently being held without bond at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
