Hagerstown, Md (KM) A suspect wanted in a homicide last year in Hagerstown is being held at the Washington County Detention Center without bond. Hagerstown Police says Brian Christopher Francis, 41, was apprehended on December 16th, 2023 in North Carolina by Morrisville Police and agents with the FBI Field Office in Charlotte.
He was incarcerated at the Wake County Detention Center before being extradited back to Maryland on December 27th, 2023.
Francis is charged with 1st-degree murder, 2nd-degree murder, attempted murder and other offenses for a shooting in an apartment on Brinker Street in Hagerstown on July 30th, 2023. One of the victims died; the other was shot multiple times, but survived.
Investigators say the victims and the suspect were known to each other.
