Two Men Tied to Shootings in Hagerstown and Frederick

Both men involved in crimes against one another.

HAGERSTOWN, MD. (LG) A Washington County Judge sentenced 27 year old Dyshez Williams, of Frederick, to five years in prison after he entered an Alford plea for recklessly discharging a firearm from a car in May of 2023.

The Herald-Mail is reporting that Williams shot at 43 year old Raven Cosley, from Hagerstown. Police said the two men have a history of involving themselves in crimes against each other. Both men allegedly pulled guns out from their waistband and exchanged some words to each other before going their separate ways in this particular case. Three people were charged, including a juvenile, investigators said.

About 2 weeks earlier, authorities said Cosley was released from jail for a case that happened in Frederick County, Maryland. In that incident, Cosley was charged with 2 counts each for attempted first and second degree murder for allegedly shooting Williams in his back on July 5th of 2022.  Cosley also entered an Alford plea in that case. He was sentenced to time served, which was about 8 and a half months.

Hagerstown police said a juvenile was also charged as an adult.
