Investigation Continues Into Shooting In Silver Spring In January

Two people were shot as they were walking on the sidewalk.

Silver Spring, Md (KM) The shooting of two individuals in downtown Silver Spring last month remains under investigation.  Detectives with the Montgomery County Police have released surveillance photos of the four suspects, and are asking the public’s help in identifying and locating them.

Authorities say on Thursday, January 25th, 2024 at around 11:50 PM, four individuals were traveling along Colesville Road near Second Avenue in a gray Toyota Camry when they stopped the car and got out.. They assaulted a man who was walking on the sidewalk. One of the suspects produced a handgun and shot the victim. A second person who was walking in the area was also shot.

The two victims were taken to area hospitals with injuries which are not considered life threatening.

Anyone who has information on this incident, or knows the identities and whereabouts of the suspects, is asked to contact Crimesolvers of Montgomery County.  A reward of $10,000 is being offered for information which leads to an arrest.  Citizens can go on line to www.criesolversmcmd.org, or call 1-866-411-8477 with their information.  Tipsters  can remain anonymous.
