Three Arrested For Homicide In Hagerstown

Hagerstown, Md (KM) Hagerstown Police have charged three suspects in a homicide late last month. Jenaro James Torres, 26, Emens Lourdy Rho, 40, and Stephanie Nicole Paulino, 35, were taken into custody, and charged with 1st-degree murder, 2nd-degree murder, and firearms offenses. All three are Hagerstown residents. They are jailed at the Washington County Detention Center without bound.

On Friday, January 26th, 2024, police responded to the 1200 block of Marshall Street for a report of shots fired. They found Kevin Michael Shepherd, 38, dead from a gunshot wound.  Detectives say it was likely a targeted incident, and there was no danger to the community.

Prior to the arrests for this homicide, police say on Friday, February 9th, they responded to the 100 block of South Prospect Boulevard in reference to an assault involving a handgun. Authorities say they learned that Torres and Rho assaulted another person with handgun. . They were taken into custody,  and charged with 1st-degree assault,  2nd-degree assault, reckless endangerment and multiple firearms offenses in connection with this incident.

Police say they searched the apartment where the incident occurred, and found a loaded handgun.
