Juvenile Charged With Making A Bomb Threat To Wootton High School

Police say he also faces criminal charges in other states.

Gaithersburg, Md (KM) A male juvenile accused of making a bomb threat to Wootton High School in Rockville last year has been charged.  Montgomery County Police say the youth is charged with threats of mass violence, telephone misuse and other offenses.

Authorities say on Monday, November 27th, 2023, the school received a call just after 8:00 AM from a boy who said there were bombs in multiple locations around the school.   School officials called 911 to report the threats. Montgomery County Police officers, including some K-9 offices, and fire and rescue personnel were dispatched,  and the building in the 2100 block of Wootton Parkway was evacuated.   A search of the school was conducted, but no bombs were found.

Police say they gathered evidence, obtained information, spoke with witnesses and conducted search warrants which led to charges against this juvenile.

They say this youth has made bomb threats against schools in New York, New Jersey, Missouri and Howard County, Maryland. He’s also facing criminal charges in other states.
