He’s being held without bond for 1st-degree murder.

Frederick, Md (KM) The suspect in a homicide in Frederick County earlier this year has waived his right to a bond hearing. The State’s Attorney’s Office says Keon Wilson-Hawkins, 20, of Baltimore is being held without bond for 1st-degree murder, conspiracy to commit 1st-degree murder, kidnapping and carjacking. He was indicted on those charges by the Grand Jury on March 8th, 2024.
Prosecutors also say Wilson-Hawkins is the nephew of the victim, Brice Wendall Boots, 66, of Pikesville. Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office say Boots and Wilson-Hawkins were involved in a contentious divorce case, and Boots had expressed fear for his safety from his estranged wife, Frances Virginia Hamilton. Boots’ body was found deceased in a car in a field off of Crum Road in Walkersville on the afternoon of January 10th. .
Following the discovery of Boots; body, the State’s Attorney’s Office says detectives tried to contact Hamilton without success. A search of Boots’ residence found evidence consistent with a physical altercation between the victim and Wilson-Hawkins, the State’s Attorney’s Office says in a news release.. Investigators also obtained video surveillance from a nearby business which showed Boots, Wilson-Hawkins and Hamilton traveling in a vehicle to Boots’ residence on January 9th.
Cellular phone records analyzed by the FBI’s Cellular Analysis Survey Team found that Boots, Hamilton and Wilson-Hawkins were at Boots’ residence on the evening on January 9th through the early morning hours of January 10th. They also determined that Boots and Wilson-Hawkins left the home at around 4:37 AM, taking Interstate 70 to Frederick. The vehicle stopped at the 8200 block of Crum Road at around 6:30 AM. Wilson-Hawkins left the area heading to his home west Baltimore, according to the news release from the State’s Attorney’s Office.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office say they tried to contact Hamilton several times, but without success. Her body was found on February 24th in Anne Arundel County. The cause of her death is suspected as suicide.

The Sheriff’s Office says Wilson-Hawkins was apprehended at his home on Monday, March 11th. Deputies were assisted by the US Marshals Service Capital Regional Task Force.
