Germantown, Md. (BW)- A teacher at a church in Montgomery County has been arrested and charged on Monday, Mar 11, for sex offenses involving minors.
In May 2023, a victim reported the abuse to police, who then began in investigation. Three more victims came forward between May 2023 and January 2024. Police said they believe there may be more victims who have not contacted authorities.
All the offenses occurred between 2016 and 2018, when the victims were between six and 12 years old.
Alfaro Lopez was charged with multiple counts of sex abuse of a minor, second-degree sex offense and third-degree sex offense.
He was a teacher at Derwood church, located in the 15700 block of Crabbs Branch Way.
He is currently being held without bond.
