Survivors of sexual assault and friends are encouraged to participate.
Frederick, Md. (BW) – A Clothesline Project will be put on at Hood College on Thursday, April 11 to raise awareness for sexual assault and intimate partner violence.
The project is sponsored by Heartly House and Frederick Secular Humanists (FRESH). Also supporting this event is the Children’s Advocacy Center and the Frederick Center.
Survivors of sexual assault, rape, incest, sexual abuse and intimate partner violence, as well as supporters and friends, will have the opportunity to make T-shirts to share their stories. These shirts will be hung up on a clothesline and displayed for the public to see.
Heartly House and FRESH will host several T-shirt making opportunities in the beginning of April at local libraries.
On April 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. T-shirts will be able to be made at the Urbana Regional Library.
On April 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. T-shirt making will take place at the Brunswick Branch Library.
On April 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. participants can make their T-shirts at Emmitsburg Branch Library.
Shirts and art supplies will be available at the libraries.
The Clothesline Project began in 1990 in Massachusetts and has spread across the world since.
