Coyote Attacks Two Women In Montgomery County

One woman was transported to the hospital

Burtonsville, Md. (BW)- A coyote in Montgomery County attacked two women on separate occasions Thursday, Mar 28.

Montgomery County Police, Animal Services and the Department of Natural Resources worked together to locate the coyote. It was shot and killed Thursday evening and will be tested for rabies.

The first attack came around 9:44 a.m. in the 1400 block of Patuxent Drive near the T. Howard Duckett Watershed, where a woman was walking her dog. She was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The second attack came around 3:44 p.m. in the 3600 block of Bell Road. The woman attacked was able to defend herself by stabbing the animal.
