Six Indictments Returned On Friday By the Frederick County Grand Jury

Two of the individuals are  co-defendants.

Frederick, Md (KM) The Frederick County Grand Jury indicted six individuals on Friday, including two who are co-defendants.

*Daniel Lee Quarles. 26. of Clinton, Maryland, is charged with four counts of armed robbery, one count of conspiracy to commit armed robbery; four counts of robbery; one count of conspiracy to commit robbery; four counts of 1st-and 2nd-degree assault; one count of use of a firearm in a crime of violence; one count of having a handgun on his person; one count of theft of $1,000 to $25,000; two counts of theft between $!00 to $1500; and one count of theft less than$100.

*Preston Grayson Holmes III of Damascus, Maryland, 20, is charged with four counts of armed robbery; one count of conspiracy to commit armed robbery; four counts of 1st-degree assault; four counts of 2nd-degree assault; one count of theft between $1500 to $25,000; two counts of theft between $100 and $1500; theft less than $100 and one count each of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery; conspiracy to commit theft between $1500 to $25,000; and being an accessory after the fact for robbery.

The charges against Quarles and Holmes are for an offense which occurred on March 31st, 2022,

Other individuals indicted include:

*John Thanh Tran, 29, of Silver Spring, who is charged with extortion between the value of $1,000 and $10,000, and distributing an intimate and sexual image for an offense which occurred on August 3rd, 2023.

*Ronald Lee Mills, Jr,  42, of Frederick, who is charged with one count of 1st-degree assault; two counts of 2nd-degree assault; one count of reckless endangerment; five counts of violating pre-trial conditions for a crime of violence; and one count of violating an exparte/protective order for offenses which occurred between March 14th and March 20th, 2024

*Estella Marie Benson, 40, of Frederick who is charged with 1st-degree assault; 2nd-degree assault; 2nd-degree child abuse by a custodian; and reckless endangerment for an offense which occurred on March 8th, 2024.

*Bernardino Martinez Orellana, 32, of Frederick, who is charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and possession of cocaine for an offense which occurred on November 11th, 2023.

These indictments move these cases to the Circuit Court where trial dates will be scheduled.

The Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office says indictments are charging documents alleging criminal conduct, and all defendants are innocent until proven guilty.
