Frederick Police Charge Four Juveniles Following Assault, Robbery On Sunday Night

The victim suffered minor injuries.

Frederick, Md (KM) Four juveniles have been charged in connection with an assault and armed robbery Sunday night.

Frederick Police say at around 10:00 PM, officers responded to Horizon Drive for an assault in progress.  Authorities say the situation escalated into an armed robbery with the victim having been assaulted and robbed by four suspects.

After arriving at the scene, officers observed some individuals in the area attempting to flee as police approached. That resulted in a foot chase. Additional officers responded to the scene, and two suspects were apprehended in the 1300 block of West Patrick Street. Another suspect was taken into custody near Apple Way.

All three were identified as suspects in the assault and robbery. Further investigation identified a fourth suspect who was also apprehended. The four juveniles are charged with robbery, armed robbery, 1st-degree assault (with a knife) and 1st-degree assault (with another weapon.)

The victim suffered minor injuries and had several personal items stolen during the incident. They were recovered following apprehension of the suspects

Police say all four individuals were taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center for processing. Their names are not being released because they juveniles, authorities say,

In a news release, the Frederick  Police are praising the “exceptional teamwork” from the evening and midnight Patrol Squads for their work in apprehending these four suspects. “Squads B and G exhibited professionalism and seamless execution, leading to the prompt identification and apprehension of all suspects,” authorities say in the news release.
