Ranson, WV (KM) A fiery crash in Jefferson County, West Virginia Tuesday afternoon left two people dead, including a Frederick County resident.
Police say a Chrysler 300C sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed along West Virginia Route 9. It passed stopped traffic at the intersection with Oak Lee Drive and then entered the grass median. It went into the westbound lanes, struck a concrete barrier and a Dodge Charger head on.
The Chrysler burst into flames, and the Dodge Charger sustained heavy front end damage with the air bags deployed, police say..
The operator of the Chrysler is identified as Delonte Ellison. 33. of Frederick County. The driver of the Dodge was Derek Baer, 49, of Kerneysville, West Virginia. Both were pronouned dead at the scene.
Authorities say Bear was a Special Agent with the US Postal Service Office of the Inspector General.
