Two Arrested For Shots-Fired Incident In Frederick Last Weekend

Frederick, Md (KM) Two suspects have been arrested for a shots-fired incident in Frederick last weekend.

Shortly before 6:15 PM on Sunday, April 14th, police responded to the area of South Pendleton Court to investigate reports of shots fired. Eyewitnesses gave officers a description of the suspects. Two men who were in the area fled when they saw a Frederick Police officer and a Sheriff’s Deputy who were on the scene. They were apprehended .

Abel Antonio Castillo, 21, of Frederick, was taken into custody  in the 100 block of Tillman Place. Officers also recovered a handgun nearby, and found two bullets on Castillo’s person.

The second suspect, identified as Heddby  Abddy Ramirez Maldonado, 22, also of Frederick, was observed in the area of South Pendleton Court, and was apprehended as he was trying to flee.

Both suspects were transported to Frederick Health Hospital for medical clearance. Then they were taken to the Adult Detention Center where they’re being held without bond.

The charges against Ramirez Maldonado are:

Illegal Possession of Registered Firearm

Illegal Possession of Ammunition

Stolen/Selling/etc. Registered Firearm

Unlawful Sale/Transfer of Registered Firearm

Police say Ramirez Maldonado has an active warrant for failure to appear in court.

Authorities say there’s no indication anyone was injured in this incident, and no property was damaged.
