Child sex abuse defendant will be retried on all but one count.
Winchester, VA (JK) – A mistrial was declared on Tuesday in Winchester Virginia Circuit Court in the case of Hylton Walker of Winchester. He is accused of molesting three children over an 8 year period.
Hylton was arrested in September of 2021, and is accused of molesting three female children between 2013 and 2021 according to the Winchester Star.
One of the victims told investigators that Walker raped her and was forced to perform other sex acts. All three children, who are now teenagers, told police that Walker showed them pornography and he would masturbate in front of them.
He has been charged with three counts of indecent liberties with a child, two counts of rape, two counts of aggravated sexual battery, one count of sodomy, one count of using a sex object for penetration of a minor and one count of showing a child pornography.
After closing remarks, the jury retired. After some length of time, they returned and proceeded to tell Judge Brian Madden that they could not reach a verdict on any of the cases. Madden then ordered a mistrial.
The judge continued the case until May 23rd, The prosecution dropped one of the indecent liberties counts, but Walker will be retried on all of the remaining charges.
