Woman Convicted of Child Abuse And Assault In Frederick County

(BW)- A woman charged with second-degree child abuse and second-degree assault was found guilty following a bench trial in Frederick County Circuit Court Friday, May 17.The convicted is 50-year-old Ana Cecelia Gonzalez.In July of 2023, the minor female victim reported to officials at a Frederick County elementary school that Gonzalez hit her and verbally abused her on a regular basis.Frederick Police and Child Protective Services then began an investigation.Gonzalez’s bond was revoked. She will remain at Frederick County Adult Detention Center as she awaits her sentencing.The trial was presided over by Judge Julia Martz-Fisher.
