Frederick, Md (KM) Frederick County’s Division of Parks and Recreation, through its Parks and Recreation Commission. is now accepting applications for its Community Grant Program.
Various organizations are eligible to apply, including homeowners associations, civic and community service organizations, athletic associations and recreation councils.
These grants can be used to improve existing recreational facilities, or to construct new ones on land used by the organization. The funds cannot be used on property owned by federal, state, municipal or Frederick County Government.
The funds can be used for the cost of materials, equipment and contracted labor. Construction can be done by volunteers, paid contractors, or a combination of the two.
The project must be completed within two years of the July 1st of the funding year. For fiscal year 2025, it must be completed by June 30th, 2026.
County officials say the budget for fiscal year 2025 for this program is $100,000, and applicants can only request up to $25,000.
Grant applications must be completed and submitted by August 2nd, 2024 by 11:59 PM. The County says it will notify organizations of their award status by November, 2024.
