Man Rescued Monday At Gambrill State Park Following 50-Foot Fall

He was medivaced to a local trauma center.

Frederick, Md (KM) One man was medivaced to a trauma center after falling about 50 feet down a cliff at Gambrill State Park Monday evening.

Frederick County Fire and Rescue says emergency personnel were dispatched at around 7:45 PM   They say the man fell 50 feet in an area near Gambrill Park Road at High Knob.

The man was found in a semi-conscious condition, and plans were to hoist him from the area where he had fallen to the State Police helicopter hovering in  the air.    But crews were able to carry the man up to an  ambulance.

He was transported to the landing zone where he was flown out.

There’s no word on the man’s condition at this time.
