Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
Urbana, Md (KM) A 16-year-old boy was shot Friday night in Urbana.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says at around 10:22 PM, deputies were dispatched to the Urban Green Apartments in the 3300 block of Galena Drive for reports of a shooting during a large gathering at the clubhouse. They found the teenager with a gunshot wound to the upper chest, and began to render aid before medics arrived. The youth was flown to an area trauma center to be treated for his inquires.
Witnesses told authorities that they saw an individual or individuals arrive the scene, and began firing toward a crowd of people before fleeing. State Troopers from the Frederick Barrack were asked to assist in the search for a suspect or suspects.
The Sheriff’s Office says at this time. it does not look like a random act of violence, and there are no immediate threats to the general public.
The identity of the suspect or suspects is not known at this time. The investigation is continuing and the Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who has information to contact them. They can call Detective Patterson at 301-600-4218, or call the Tip Line at 301-600-4131.
