Suspect In Last Weekend’s Homicide In Frederick Will Remain Behind Bars

Bond was denied on Monday to the defendant.

Frederick, Md (KM) The man charged with a homicide last weekend in Frederick will remain behind bars. In Frederick County District Court on Monday, Elijah Stephen Mboss, 22, was ordered held without bond at the Adult Detention Center. on charges of 1st-degree murder and 2nd-degree murder, .

The State’s Attorney’s Office says late Friday night, Frederick Police Officers responded to the 1000 block of Heather Ridge Drive to investigate reports of a shooting. They found the victim, Tristan Mahorney, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Frederick Health Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

While en route to the scene, police stopped a white Acura and observed the driver identified as Mboss covered in blood. Authorities say an investigation identified Mboss to the suspect.

They says Mboss and Mahorney got into an altercation in the area of the Country Hill Apartments which resulted in the victim’s death

The investigation into this homicide is continuing.

Mboss will have a preliminary hearing on September 10th, 2024, the State’s Attorney’s Office says.
