Taneytown Man Dead Following Crash Between Infiniti Vehicle & Motorcycle

The two occupants of the Infiniti  fled the scene.

Taneytown, Md (KM) A Taneytown man was killed in a two–vehicle crash early Tuesday morning. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office says at around 4:33 AM, deputies responded to Francis Scott Key Highway south of Kump Station Road in Taneytown where they found a 55-year-old man laying on the highway. Terry Lee Crowl was pronounced dead at around 5:00 AM.

Authorities say Crowl was riding his motorcycle northbound on Francis Scott Key Highway when it was struck by an Infiniti QX60 which crossed the median from the southbound lanes. The Infiniti then went off the road near the northbound shoulder of Francis Scott Key Highway .. Witnesses told deputies they saw two men, possibly African-American or Hispanic, dressed in dark clothing flee from the scene.

The Sheriff’s Office says one of those individuals may still be in the area of the crash.. He’s described as African-American man,, 200 pounds with dreadlocks, wearing dirty sweatpants. If you see this person, you’re asked to call nine-one-one immediately.

The Infiniti was reported stolen from Baltimore City

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office says it was assisted in the search of the two individuals who fled by the agency’s K9 Unit, the Maryland State Police Aviation Division, the Taneytown Police, and a bloodhound from York County, Pennsylvania.
