Juvenile Charged As An Adult In Hagerstown Shooting

He was arrested shortly after the incident on Wednesday afternoon.

Hagerstown, Md (KM) A juvenile has been charged as an adult for a shooting Wednesday afternoon in Hagerstown. Police say Micha Ricks, 17, of Hagerstown is charged with attempted 1st- degree murder, attempted 2nd-degree murder, 1st- and 2nd-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and numerous firearms offenses.

Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of  East Washington Street just after 3:30 PM on Wednesday  for a shooting. They found Deangelo Rouzer, 41, of Hagerstown, with numerous gunshot wounds. He was taken by ambulance to Meritus Medical Center, and police say he is expected to survive.

Ricks was apprehended in the 300 block of Liberty Street a short time after the shooting following a foot chase.

Hagerstown Police say an investigation determined the victim and the suspect knew each other, and this was a targeted shooting.

Ricks is being held at the Washington County Detention Center.
